When you're expanding into a new market—and your primary competitors are FTSE100 multinationals—you need a brand narrative that sets you apart from the start.
Bright Network was about to launch a new branch of its recruitment business—a 12-week coding bootcamp to train recent graduates and place them into Blue Chip technology teams.
As with any project, the first step was to identify the critical problems faced by Bright Network's clients, as well as the broader market trends at play.
We found enterprise tech teams were on the brink of a talent crisis. COVID-19 had accelerated digital transformation initiatives and 87% of businesses were experiencing a chronic digital skills shortage.
However, a greater concern was the staggering lack of representation. Only 2% of the UK tech workforce was from a Black heritage background, and less than 13% of UK tech leaders were female.
As a decades-old business, Bright Network already had access to a diverse network of 800,000+ UK graduates: 55% female, 18% Black heritage, and 11% LGBTQIA+.
We developed a narrative that played to their strengths—positioning Bright Network as the ideal solution to tackle diversity issues and address the skills gap at the same time.
We built a messaging framework that celebrated the benefits of a Bright Network partnership—access to the UK's best and most diverse young talent—and the opportunity to develop your organisation's future tech leaders and role models.
Equipped with this narrative, Bright Network Technology Academy won four industry awards and expanded their partnerships among their Blue Chip client base. Within their first year and a half, they trained and deployed over 150 consultants, and generated more than €10M in revenue.
